For photographers and studios
Before using ShootGrid for a job, the account owner must:
- have permission to photograph each client and, when applicable, authorization from a parent, guardian, school, league, employer, venue, or event organizer;
- tell clients who the photographer is, why contact information is collected, how photographs will be delivered or sold, and how to make a privacy request;
- use Photo Pass information only for the session and purposes explained to the client;
- send only transactional gallery texts unless separate, legally sufficient marketing consent has been obtained;
- protect gallery passwords and links and avoid adding sensitive information to filenames, titles, or notes; and
- honor opt-outs, access, correction, download, and deletion requests as required by law.
Photo Pass delivery consent
The Photo Pass form requires this consent before a QR code is created:
I authorize the photographer to use the information I provide to identify this photo session and deliver a private gallery. I confirm that I am the person being photographed or am authorized to act for them, including as a parent or guardian when required. I understand that the photographer controls the session and ShootGrid processes the information to provide the gallery service.
Transactional text consent
If a client enters a mobile number, the form separately requires:
I agree to receive transactional text messages about this photo session and gallery at the number provided. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not required to buy photography; I can use email instead. Reply STOP to opt out.
A mobile number is optional. ShootGrid does not treat transactional consent as permission for advertising or unrelated marketing.
Minors and sensitive sessions
For a minor, the photographer must determine and document the authority required for the event. A child should not create a ShootGrid account. Do not use a Photo Pass to collect medical, financial, government-identification, precise location, or other unnecessary sensitive information. The optional note should contain only information needed for the photography session.
Questions or requests
Clients should contact their photographer or studio about a session first. For help with the ShootGrid service, email support@shootgrid.com.
